Picadillo

  1. Heat oil in large pan.
  2. Saut onion 3 minutes.
  3. Add jalapeo and garlic; saut 1 minute.
  4. Add meat; saut 3 minutes or until brown, stirring to crumble.
  5. Stir in apple and next 7 ingredients; bring to a boil.
  6. Reduce heat and simmer, uncovered, for 30 minutes or until thick.
  7. Remove from heat; remove cinnamon sticks and stir in almonds.
  8. Makes five 1-cup servings.
