Euvonne'S Cracky Bars
- 1 1/3 c. all-purpose flour
- 3/4 c. chopped nuts
- 1 sq. chocolate, melted
- 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 1 c. sugar
- 3/4 c. semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp. salt
- graham crackers
- 3/4 c. shortening
- 1/3 c. milk
- Sift together the flour, salt and soda; set aside.
- In mixing bowl, blend the shortening, sugar and eggs; beat well.
- Combine milk and vanilla.
- Add dry ingredients to creamed mixture alternately with milk.
- Remove 1/3 of batter to another bowl.
- Add nuts and melted chocolate.
- Spread in a greased 9 x 13-inch pan. Arrange whole graham crackers in single layers over batter in pan. To remaining batter in mixing bowl, add the chocolate chips. Drop by spoonfuls over crackers.
- Spread to cover.
- Bake in preheated oven at 375u0b0 for 20 to 25 minutes.
- Cut in squares when cool.
