Rose Geranium Sugar Cookies

  1. Preheat oven to 350u0b0.
  2. Cream shortening and sugar.
  3. Add eggs and mix thoroughly.
  4. Sift flour, baking powder and salt; add grated rind.
  5. Add this to first mixture gradually, alternating with milk or juice.
  6. Add 1 tablespoon anise seed, crushed or whole, and geranium leaves.
  7. Chill dough.
  8. Roll out thinly on a floured board.
  9. Cut with cutter dipped in flour.
  10. Bake 10 minutes at 350u0b0.
  11. For drop cookies add more liquid and drop from teaspoons.
