Oriental Spareribs
- 12 pork spareribs
- 4 Tbsp. honey
- 4 Tbsp. soy sauce
- 3 Tbsp. catsup
- 1 tsp. chili powder
- 2 cloves garlic, crushed
- 1 tsp. mustard powder
- 2 tsp. paprika
- 2 Tbsp. dry sherry
- 1/4 c. orange juice
- 4 Tbsp. wine vinegar
- 2 Tbsp. oil
- Wash and dry spareribs.
- Meanwhile, combine rest of ingredients in a large bowl.
- Marinate ribs at least 1 hour or overnight.
- In skillet, wok or Dutch oven, brown ribs in 2 tablespoons oil.
- When slightly brown, pour the marinade over, reduce heat to a simmer, cover and cook 40 minutes, turning twice during cooking period.
- When ribs are ready, they should be orangey-brown in color.
- Serve immediately with rice.
- Serves 4 to 6.
