Oriental Spareribs

  1. Wash and dry spareribs.
  2. Meanwhile, combine rest of ingredients in a large bowl.
  3. Marinate ribs at least 1 hour or overnight.
  4. In skillet, wok or Dutch oven, brown ribs in 2 tablespoons oil.
  5. When slightly brown, pour the marinade over, reduce heat to a simmer, cover and cook 40 minutes, turning twice during cooking period.
  6. When ribs are ready, they should be orangey-brown in color.
  7. Serve immediately with rice.
  8. Serves 4 to 6.
