Easy One-Dish Supper
- 1/2 loaf frozen white bread dough, thawed
- 1 1/2 lb. ground beef
- 1/4 c. chopped onions
- 1 (4 oz.) can mushrooms (undrained)
- 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce or canned tomatoes
- 2 Tbsp. catsup
- 1/4 tsp. oregano
- 1/4 tsp. thyme
- 1/4 tsp. basil
- 1/4 tsp. parsley
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/8 tsp. pepper
- 1 egg, beaten
- Brown beef and onions in a Dutch oven.
- Add onions, mushrooms, tomato sauce or tomatoes, catsup, oregano, thyme, basil, parsley, salt and pepper.
- Cover and simmer for 15 minutes.
- Cool to warm. Divide dough into 20 pieces and place on top of warm beef mixture. Cover; let rise 30 minutes or until pieces of bread dough have doubled in size.
- Lightly brush dough with beaten egg.
- Bake, uncovered, at 375u0b0 for 25 to 30 minutes.
- Makes 6 servings.
