Nana Morse'S Shredded Wheat Bread

  1. Pour boiling water over shredded wheat biscuits.
  2. Add salt, sugar, molasses and shortening.
  3. Let stand until cool.
  4. Dissolve yeast in 2/3 cup warm water.
  5. Add to mixture; add flour until dough is of workable consistency.
  6. Knead well on floured board. Place ball of dough in greased bowl and allow to rise until double in size.
  7. Punch down dough.
  8. Divide into 2.
  9. Place in greased pans and allow to rise until double in size.
  10. Bake at 375u0b0 for 40 to 45 minutes.
  11. Brush baked loaves with melted butter.
  12. Makes 3 loaves.
