Out-Of-This-World Brownies
- 1 cup butter, softened
- 2 cups sugar
- 4 eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup plus 3 tablespoons baking cocoa
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup butter
- 4 cups confectioners' sugar
- 1/4 cup plus 2 teaspoons half-and-half cream
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 ounce unsweetened chocolate
- 1 tablespoon butter
- In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Beat in vanilla. Combine flour, cocoa and salt; gradually add to the creamed mixture.
- Spread into an ungreased
- . Bake at 350u0b0 for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean (do not overbake). Cool on wire rack.
- For frosting, in a heavy saucepan, cook and stir butter over medium heat for 5-7 minutes or until golden brown. Pour into a bowl; beat in the confectioners' sugar, cream and vanilla. Frost cooled brownies.
- For glaze, in a microwave melt chocolate and butter; stir until smooth. Drizzle over the frosting. Cut into bars.
