Scripture Cake(Look Up The References In The Old Testament.)
- Judges 5:25 (1/2 c. butter or margarine)
- Jeremiah 6:20 (1 c. sugar)
- Isaiah 10:14 (3 eggs, separated)
- Exodus 16:31 (1 Tbsp. honey)
- 1 Kings 4:22 (2 c. flour)
- Leviticus 2:13 (1/2 tsp. salt)
- 1 Corinthians 5:6 (2 tsp. baking powder)
- 1 Kings 10:10 (3/4 tsp. cinnamon)
- 1/4 tsp. each: ground cloves, allspice and nutmeg
- Judges 4:19 (1/3 c. milk)
- Genesis 43:11 (1/2 c. chopped blanched almonds)
- 1 Samuel 30:12 (1/2 c. raisins)
- 1 Samuel 20:12 (1/2 c. chopped dried figs)
- Cream butter.
- Add sugar; beat until light.
- Add egg yolks, one at a time, beating after each addition.
- Beat in honey.
- Mix dry ingredients and add alternately with milk to the egg mixture. Beat until smooth.
- Stir in nuts and fruits.
- Fold in stiffly beaten egg whites.
- Pour into loaf pan (9 x 5 x 3-inch) lined with wax paper.
- Bake in a 350u0b0 oven for 1 hour, or until done.
- Cool in pan for 5 minutes.
- Turn cake out on rack and peel off paper. Turn right side up to cool.
