Scalloped Tomatoes

  1. Melt the butter in a skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add the onion and cook
  3. until
  4. tender, stirring occasionally.
  5. Add the bread cubes and continue
  6. cooking
  7. until some of the cubes are toasted, stirring
  8. occasionally.
  9. Remove
  10. from
  11. the
  12. heat. Combine the cubes
  13. with
  14. all the other ingredients, except the cheese.
  15. Spoon 1/2 of
  16. the mixture into a buttered 1 1/2 quart casserole. Sprinkle with
  17. 1/2
  18. of
  19. the grated cheese.
  20. Repeat layers.
  21. Bake at 350u0b0 for 35 to 40 minutes.
  22. Serves 6 to 8.
