Praline Pound Cake
- 1 c. butter, softened
- 1/2 c. shortening
- 1 (16 oz.) pkg. dark brown sugar
- 5 eggs
- 3 c. all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/4 tsp. soda
- 3/4 c. milk
- 2 c. chopped pecans
- 2 tsp. vanilla extract
- Cream butter and shortening; gradually add sugar, beating until light and fluffy.
- Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
- Combine 2 1/2 cups flour, baking powder and soda.
- Add to cream mixture, alternately with milk, beginning and ending with flour mixture.
- Dredge pecans in remaining 1/2 cup flour.
- Stir pecans and vanilla into batter
- Pour into 2 greased and floured 10-inch tube pans.
- Bake at 350u0b0 for 1 hour and 15 minutes or until a wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool in pan 15 minutes.
