Praline Pound Cake

  1. Cream butter and shortening; gradually add sugar, beating until light and fluffy.
  2. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  3. Combine 2 1/2 cups flour, baking powder and soda.
  4. Add to cream mixture, alternately with milk, beginning and ending with flour mixture.
  5. Dredge pecans in remaining 1/2 cup flour.
  6. Stir pecans and vanilla into batter
  7. Pour into 2 greased and floured 10-inch tube pans.
  8. Bake at 350u0b0 for 1 hour and 15 minutes or until a wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool in pan 15 minutes.
