Orange Candy Cake
- 1/2 lb. butter or margarine
- 2 c. sugar
- 4 eggs
- 1 tsp. soda
- 1/2 c. buttermilk
- 3 1/2 c. plain flour
- 1 tsp. rum flavoring
- 1 box pitted dates, chopped (8 oz.)
- 1 lb. orange candy slices, chopped
- 1 small can grated coconut
- 2 c. chopped pecans
- 1 c. frozen orange juice, undiluted
- 1 c. powdered sugar
- Cream butter and sugar; add beaten eggs, one at a time. Dissolve soda in buttermilk; add to creamed mixture alternately with flour, reserving 1 cup flour.ttir mixture after each addition;
- add flavoring.
- Stir reserved

- Mix well;told

- mixture. Place in floured and greased tube pan;

- 3 hours.
- Mix orange juice and sugar;
- pour
- over hot cake while it is still in pan.
- Cool cake thoroughly before removing from pan.
