Tostada Grande
- 1 lb. lean ground beef
- 2 Tbsp. (1/2 pkg.) taco or chili seasoning mix
- 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
- 1 (4 oz.) can diced green chilies, drained
- 3 to 4 drops Tabasco sauce
- 1 (8 oz.) can crescent rolls or 1 (7.5 oz.) can refrigerated biscuits
- 1 c. refried beans
- 4 oz. Cheddar and Mozzarella cheese, shredded
- 1/2 head lettuce, shredded
- 1 large tomato, chopped
- 1 small onion, chopped
- In a large skillet, brown ground beef; drain well.
- Stir in seasoning, tomato sauce, chilies and Tabasco sauce; heat until hot and bubbly.
- Simmer, uncovered, for 15 minutes or until mixture thickens.
- Lightly grease a 9 or 10-inch pie plate.
- Separate rolls or biscuits; arrange in pan.
- Press over bottom and up sides to form crust.
- Spread beans over dough.
- Top with meat mixture. Bake at 375u0b0 for 18 to 22 minutes or until crust is golden brown. Sprinkle immediately with cheese.
- Garnish with lettuce, tomato and onion.
- Yields 4 to 6 servings.
