Beef Stroganoff
- 1 lb. round steak, sliced thin
- 1/4 c. flour
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/8 tsp. pepper
- 4 Tbsp. butter or margarine
- 1/2 c. chopped onion
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 (6 oz.) can mushrooms or 1 pt. fresh
- 1 c. sour cream
- 1 can cream of tomato soup
- 1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
- 1/4 tsp. Tabasco sauce
- 1/2 c. green pepper, diced
- Tenderize meat and cut in 3/4-inch strips.
- Dredge with flour, salt and pepper.
- Brown in hot butter.
- Add onions, mushrooms and garlic.
- Combine sour cream, soup, Worcestershire sauce, Tabasco sauce and green pepper.
- Pour over meat.
- Cover; cook on high heat, then reduce to simmer.
- Serve over egg noodles.
- Sprinkle with fresh grated Parmesan cheese.
- Serves 4 to 5.
