Fruit Cake Cookies

• 1 c. margarine or Crisco
• 1 c. brown sugar
• 1 c. white sugar
• 6 eggs
• 6 c. flour
• 2 tsp. allspice
• 2 tsp. cinnamon
• 1 to 1 1/2 tsp. cloves
• 1 1/2 c. chopped nuts
• 1 1/2 to 2 lb. fruit cake mix
• 2 Tbsp. hot water
• 1 tsp. soda
• 1 lb. chopped dates

1. Mix flour and spices.
2. Set aside.
3. Cream margarine and sugar. Mix well.
4. Add eggs.
5. Add flour until well blended.
6. Add fruit cake mix, dates and nuts.
7. Add water and soda mixed together. Stir until all are blended.
8. Drop 1 teaspoon at a time on greased cookie sheet.
9. Bake in 350u0b0 oven for 10 to 15 minutes.
10. Roll in powdered sugar while hot.
11. Keep in tightly closed container for freshness.
