Spaghetti With Meat Sauce
- 1 to 1 1/2 lb. ground beef
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 1/2 large bell pepper, chopped
- 1 1/2 tsp. fresh minced garlic
- 1 Tbsp. olive oil
- 1/2 tsp. dry basil
- 3/4 tsp. dry oregano leaves
- 1 1/4 tsp. salt
- 2 Tbsp. white cooking wine
- 1 (10 3/4 oz.) can tomato soup
- 1/2 c. water
- 1 (4 oz.) can undrained mushrooms
- Heat oil and add meat, onion, bell pepper and garlic.
- Cook until meat is browned and onion is translucent.
- Drain excess oil. Then add remaining ingredients.
- Simmer 20 to 30 minutes over low to medium heat.
- While sauce is simmering, cook a 12 ounce package of spaghetti noodles to desired tenderness.
- Serve sauce over hot spaghetti and top with grated Parmesan cheese, if desired.
- Makes about 5 large servings.
