Orange Chocolate Chip Scones
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 2-1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 cup cold butter, cubed
- 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 4 teaspoons grated orange zest
- 1 teaspoon orange extract
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 tablespoon heavy whipping cream
- Preheat oven to 400u0b0. In a large bowl, whisk the first five ingredients. Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in chocolate chips. In another bowl, mix milk, orange zest and extract until blended; stir into flour mixture just until moistened.
