Auntie Millie'S Lasagna
- 3 links spicy Italian sausage
- 3 links sweet Italian sausage
- 1 lb. lean hamburger
- 5 medium to large cloves garlic
- 1 (12 oz.) can tomato paste
- 1 (28 oz.) can Italian-style whole tomatoes
- 1 tsp. oregano
- 2 (28 oz.) cans measured water
- 1 pkg. lasagna noodles
- 1 tsp. Italian seasoning
- 1/2 tsp. Accent
- 1 large bay leaf
- 3 Tbsp. olive oil
- 1/2 lb. Mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 lb. Provolone cheese
- 1/4 lb. Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 lb. Romano cheese
- 1 small tub Ricotta cheese
- In a large pot, brown hamburger in olive oil. Remove sausage from casing, crumble and brown with hamburger.
- Crush garlic and saute with meat. Add tomato paste, tomatoes with liquid, water and seasonings. Simmer slowly for 4 hours.
- Should have a nice thick consistency.
- Grate all cheeses.
- In lasagna pan, coated with sauce, layer as follows:
- noodles (cooked al dente per package directions), edges overlapped, sauce, cheeses (drop Ricotta by teaspoonful);
- make 3 layers, ending with cheese.
- Bake, covered, 1 hour in a 350u0b0 oven. Remove cover the last 20 minutes to brown.
