All American Burger
- 1 clove garlic, minced or 2 Tbsp. onion, finely chopped
- 2 Tbsp. catsup
- 1 Tbsp. steak sauce
- 1 Tbsp. cooking oil
- 1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp. sugar
- 1 tsp. vinegar
- few dashes hot pepper sauce
- 1 lb. lean ground beef
- 1/8 to 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- 4 hamburger buns, split and toasted
- American cheese slices (optional)
- Combine first eight ingredients (garlic, catsup, steak sauce, oil, Worcestershire sauce, sugar, vinegar and hot sauce) in saucepan.
- Bring to a boil; simmer, uncovered, for 5 minutes. Combine beef, salt and pepper; form into 4 (3/4-inch thick) patties.
- Grill over medium-hot coals for 15 to 18 minutes (until done, turning once and brushing often with sauce).
- Serve on buns with desired toppings.
