Chinese Pepper Steak

  1. Trim the meat of all fat and cut into strips.
  2. Chop onion, garlic and pimento.
  3. Cut green peppers into strips.
  4. Place diet margarine in a nonstick skillet and heat it over a low heat.
  5. Add the strips of beef and brown on both sides.
  6. Add onion, garlic, green peppers and celery.
  7. Add consomme.
  8. Season the whole mixture with salt and pepper.
  9. Cover; simmer 20 minutes.
  10. Do not boil. Add pimento.
  11. Thicken with cornstarch mixture.
  12. Cover; simmer the addition for 5 minutes.
  13. Makes 4 servings (1001.4 calories in whole recipe; 250.4 each serving).
