Baklava

  1. Preheat oven to 350u0b0.
  2. Place 5 filo leaves in 13 x 9 1/2 x 2-inch pan.
  3. Butter each as it is stacked.
  4. Evenly sprinkle 5 heaping tablespoons

  6. nut
  7. mixture.
  8. Place
  9. 2 leaves on top, brush with
  10. butter.
  11. Sprinkle 5 tablespoons of mixture.
  12. Repeat 4 times.
  13. Place
  14. remaining
  15. filo on top, buttering every second leaf.
  16. Trim
  17. edges
  18. with
  19. sharp
  20. knife.
  21. Score
  22. top sheets into diamond shapes using
  23. up and down motion.
  24. Bake 45 minutes to 1 hour.
  25. Turn off
  26. heat.
  27. Let
  28. cool in oven.
  29. Pour hot syrup over Baklava.
