Mandarin Steak
- 1 (1 lb.) lean flank steak
- 3/4 c. unsweetened orange juice
- 2 Tbsp. lemon juice
- 1 Tbsp. olive oil
- 3/4 tsp. hot sauce
- vegetable cooking spray
- 5 green onions, cut into 1-inch pieces
- 2 tsp. cornstarch
- 1/8 tsp. salt
- 1 (11 oz.) can mandarin oranges in light syrup, drained
- 1/4 c. chow mein noodles
- Trim fat from steak.
- Combine orange juice and next 3 ingredients in an 11 x 7 x 2-inch baking dish; add steak, turning to coat.
- Cover and marinate 10 minutes.
- Remove steak from marinade, reserving 1/4 cup marinade.
- Place steak on a rack in a roasting pan coated with cooking spray.
- Broil 5 1/2 inches from heat 5 minutes.
- Turn steak and broil an additional 2 minutes. Top steak with green onions; broil 2 minutes or to desired degree of doneness.
- Slice steak diagonally across grain into 1/4-inch slices.
- Place steak and onions on a serving platter; set aside and keep warm.
