Grandma'S Casserole(Weight Watchers)
- 8 tsp. light margarine
- 1 c. onion, chopped
- 1 green pepper, sliced thin
- 1/2 to 1 c. celery, chopped
- 1 lb. ground veal or turkey
- 1/2 tsp. seasoned salt
- 1/2 tsp. pepper
- pinch of oregano
- pinch of garlic salt
- 1 Tbsp. Sweet 'N Low
- 1 (16 oz.) can tomatoes
- 1 (16 oz.) can tomato sauce
- 2 c. water
- 1 (10 oz.) can mushrooms, drained or fresh, sliced mushrooms
- 8 oz. uncooked egg noodles
- 6 oz. Mozzarella cheese
- Saute onion, green pepper and celery in margarine; set aside. Brown ground meat for about 5 minutes; add all seasonings, tomatoes, tomato sauce, water and mushrooms.
- Stir in vegetables and simmer 15 minutes.
- Spoon small amount of this sauce over bottom of 9 x 13-inch pan.
- Top with noodles.
- Cover with remaining sauce and top with Mozzarella.
- Bake at 350u0b0 for 45 minutes.
- Let stand 10 minutes before cutting into 8 servings. One serving equals 3 protein, 1 bread, 1/2 fat and 1 vegetable.
