Beef Broccoli Oriental
- 1 lb. beef flank, partially frozen
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1/4 c. water
- 1/4 c. soy sauce
- 2 Tbsp. oyster sauce
- 1 tsp. sesame oil
- 1 tsp. sugar
- 1 tsp. cornstarch
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 2 Tbsp. oil
- 2 c. broccoli florets, blanched 1 minute
- 3 green onions, cut in 2-inch lengths
- Slice beef thinly across grain.
- Add baking soda and water; let stand for several hours or overnight.
- Combine soy sauce and next 5 ingredients; mix well and set aside.
- Heat a heavy pan or wok.
- Add oil and stir-fry meat until pink color leaves.
- Remove from wok.
- Add broccoli and green onions to the wok.
- Toss for a few minutes, then return the meat to the wok.
- Add sauce to the meat and stir until thickened.
- Serve at once.
- Serve with hot steamed rice or Toasted Noodle Cakes.
