Flaky Biscuits With Herb Butter
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 3 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1-1/2 teaspoons minced fresh chives
- 1-1/2 teaspoons minced fresh tarragon
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 cup shortening
- 3/4 cup 2% milk
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 1-1/2 teaspoons minced fresh chives
- 1-1/2 teaspoons minced fresh tarragon
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- In a small bowl, combine the first seven ingredients. Cut in shortening until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in milk just until moistened. Turn onto a lightly floured surface; knead 8-10 times.
