Coffee Apple Bars

  1. In saucepan, combine raisins, water and coffee crystals; bring to a boil.
  2. Remove from heat; let stand 5 minutes.
  3. Cream shortening and brown sugar until fluffy; blend in egg and vanilla. Stir together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt and cinnamon.
  4. Add alternately with raisins to creamed
  5. mixture; mix well.
  6. Stir in apples.
  7. Spread in greased 9 x 13-inch baking pan. Bake at 350u0b0 for 25 to 30 minutes.
