Pogo'S Light Biscuits For Belly-Draggers
- 2 c. whole wheat flour
- 1/2 c. soy flour
- 1/4 c. cornmeal
- 1/4 c. powdered milk
- 1 tsp. garlic powder
- 1 envelope (1/4 oz.) active dry yeast
- 1/4 c. warm water
- 1 c. chicken stock
- 1 egg, beaten and mixed with 1 Tbsp. milk
- Combine flours, cornmeal, brewer's yeast, powdered milk, parsley and garlic powder in bowl.
- In small bowl dissolve dry yeast in warm water.
- Stir well and add chicken stock.
- Pour liquid mixture into dry ingredients.
- Using hands, combine all ingredients, kneading several minutes.
- Sprinkle additional cornmeal on board and roll dough to 1/4-inch thickness.
- Cut into dog bone shapes and place on cookie sheet.
- Brush lightly with egg glaze.
- Bake at 300u0b0 for 45 minutes.
- Let biscuits dry in oven several hours or overnight.
- Store in airtight container.
