Chex And Nut Nibbles
- 1 c. (2 sticks) butter or margarine
- 18 c. dry breakfast cereal (a mix of oat circles and square Chex)
- 4 c. powdered sugar
- 1 tsp. ground cinnamon
- 2 c. (12 oz. pkg.) semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 (12 oz.) can mixed nuts
- 1/2 tsp. ground nutmeg
- In a saucepan, melt the butter and chocolate chips together, stirring until smooth.
- In a large bowl, combine the dry cereal and mixed nuts.
- Pour chocolate mixture over the mixture in the bowl.
- With rubber spatula, carefully mix until cereal and nuts are thoroughly covered.
- Sprinkle 1 cup of the powdered sugar and the cinnamon and nutmeg over the top.
- Mix until blended.
- Add remaining powdered sugar, 1 cup at a time, blending until the pieces are all coated with the sugar.
- Store in covered containers in a cool place.
- Serve as nibbles.
