Fudgy Pinwheel Cookies
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
- 1 large egg yolk
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 cup (6 ounces) semisweet chocolate chips
- 1 tablespoon shortening
- 1 cup finely chopped walnuts
- 1/3 cup sweetened condensed milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- In a large bowl, cream butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in egg yolk and vanilla. In a small bowl, whisk flour, salt and baking powder; gradually beat into creamed mixture.
