Marie'S 4-Alarm Chili
- 1 1/2 lb. hot Italian sausage, casings removed and crumbled
- 1 large onion, diced
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 Tbsp. Wesson oil
- 2 (15 oz.) cans Hunt's chili beans (undrained)
- 2 (15 oz.) cans Hunt's tomato sauce
- 1 (28 oz.) can Hunt's whole tomatoes, drained and crushed
- 1 c. beer or beef broth
- 2 Tbsp. Gebhardt chili powder
- 2 Tbsp. seeded and diced jalapeno peppers (optional)
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- shredded Cheddar cheese
- sour cream
- green onions
- In Dutch oven, cook crumbled sausage, onion and garlic in hot oil until sausage is no longer pink; drain. Add remaining ingredients except Cheddar, sour cream and green onions. Simmer, uncovered, for 45 minutes.
