Dill Bread
- 1 Tbsp. instant minced onion
- 1/4 c. water
- 1 c. creamed cottage cheese
- 1 Tbsp. butter
- 1 c. all-purpose flour
- 1 pkg. active dry yeast
- 2 Tbsp. sugar
- 2 tsp. dill weed
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1 tsp. salt
- 2 Tbsp. wheat germ
- 1 egg
- 1 3/4 to 2 1/4 c. flour
- melted butter
- Heat onion, water, cottage cheese and butter to 120u0b0.
- In large bowl, combine 1 cup flour, yeast, sugar, dill, baking soda, salt, wheat germ, egg and warmed mixture.
- Stir well.
- Add 1 3/4 cup flour and knead for 3 minutes.
- If dough is sticky, add more flour.
- Put dough into greased bowl.
- Grease top.
- Cover and let rise in warm place until double.
- Punch down and shape into loaf. Put into greased 9 1/4 x 5 1/4-inch loaf pan.
- Cover and let rise in warm place.
- Bake in 350u0b0 oven for 30 minutes.
- Remove from pan.
- Cool on rack.
- Brush with melted butter.
- Best served warm.
