Hearty Soup

  1. Cover first 7 ingredients with 8 cups cold water; bring to boil, then simmer for 1 hour.
  2. Then add rest of ingredients. Bring to a boil and simmer one more hour.
  3. When cool, remove bones and add meat to soup.
  4. If soup is too thick, thin with a little cold water.
  5. Season to taste.
  6. Freezes well.
