Dark Fruit Cake

  1. Prepare fruits; mix and place in large bowl.
  2. Soak overnight with grape juice.
  3. Sift spices and flour together 3 times.
  4. Cream butter; add sugar and cream together.
  5. Add eggs and flour alternately, carefully mixing after each addition.
  6. Add nuts gradually, mixing them well through the batter,
  7. small amount at a time, then the fruit and grape juice and mix well.
  8. Add vanilla. Bake in greased, lined pan.
  9. Bake on 2nd shelf at 275u0b0 for 3 to 3 1/2 hours, depending on your oven.
