Oatmeal Scotchies
- 1 c. (2 sticks) margarine or butter, softened
- 3/4 c. granulated sugar
- 3/4 c. firmly packed brown sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 1/4 c. all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp. soda
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
- 3 c. Quaker oats (quick or old fashioned, uncooked)
- 1 (12 oz.) pkg. (2 c.) Nestle Toll House butterscotch flavored morsels
- Heat oven to 375u0b0.
- Beat margarine, sugars, eggs and vanilla until creamy.
- Gradually add combined flour, baking soda, salt and cinnamon; mix well.
- Stir in remaining ingredients.
- Drop by level measuring tablespoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet.
- Bake 7 to 8 minutes for chewy cookie or 9 to 10 minutes for a crisp cookie. Cool 2 minutes on cookie sheet; remove to wire rack.
- I add pecans.
