Italian Spaghetti Sauce
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 stalks celery, diced
- 1 carrot, grated
- mushrooms to taste
- 1 1/2 lb. ground round (drain any grease)
- 1/2 c. cooking sherry
- 1 large can tomatoes
- 1 small can tomato paste
- 1 can tomato puree
- 1/2 tsp. Italian dressing
- salt, pepper and garlic powder to taste
- Saute onion, celery and carrot in olive oil until onions are transparent.
- Add mushrooms to taste.
- Separately, brown ground round.
- Drain any grease.
- Add cooking sherry.
- Cook slowly until evaporated, then combine with first ingredients.
- Add tomatoes, tomato paste, tomato puree, Italian seasoning, salt, pepper and garlic powder.
- Simmer 1 1/2 to 2 hours.
- May need a little water added.
- Serve over spaghetti or favorite pasta.
