Italian Spaghetti Sauce

  1. Saute onion, celery and carrot in olive oil until onions are transparent.
  2. Add mushrooms to taste.
  3. Separately, brown ground round.
  4. Drain any grease.
  5. Add cooking sherry.
  6. Cook slowly until evaporated, then combine with first ingredients.
  7. Add tomatoes, tomato paste, tomato puree, Italian seasoning, salt, pepper and garlic powder.
  8. Simmer 1 1/2 to 2 hours.
  9. May need a little water added.
  10. Serve over spaghetti or favorite pasta.
