Western Casserole
- 1 lb. ground beef
- 1 (16 oz.) can whole kernel corn, drained
- 1 (16 oz.) can kidney beans, drained
- 1 (10 3/4 oz.) can condensed tomato soup
- 4 oz. sharp process American cheese, shredded or cubed
- 1/4 c. milk
- 1 tsp. instant minced onions or 1 medium chopped onion
- 1/2 tsp. chili powder
- 1 pkg. canned biscuits or make own (10)
- 1 Tbsp. melted margarine
- 1/4 c. yellow cornmeal
- Brown beef in skillet.
- Stir in corn, beans, soup, cheese, milk, onions and chili powder.
- Bring to a boil.
- Put boiling mixture into a 2-quart casserole. Bake at 400u0b0, uncovered, for 10 minutes.
- Place biscuits on top.
- Return to oven; bake until biscuits are done and golden brown.
