Homestyle Pizza Bread

  1. In large bowl, combine 1 1/2 cups flour, 1 teaspoon basil, yeast and salt; mix well.
  2. Stir in very warm water and oil and beat on low speed 1 minute.
  3. Add remaining flour; blend on medium speed, mixing well, about 2 minutes.
  4. Turn out onto lightly floured surface.
  5. Knead 2 minutes or until smooth and elastic.
  6. Turn into greased 13 x 9-inch pan; cover and let stand 10 minutes.
  7. Press into pan and, using fingertips, make indentations in dough over entire surface.
  8. Blend remaining 1 teaspoon basil with tomato sauce; spoon over dough to within 1-inch of edges.
  9. Sprinkle with green onions.
  10. Let rise in warm, draft-free place 30 minutes.
  11. Bake at 400u0b0 for 20 to 25 minutes or until edges are golden brown. Makes 6 to 8 servings.
