Double Chocolate Brownies
- 3/4 c. cocoa
- 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 2/3 c. margarine, melted and divided
- 1/2 c. boiling water
- 2 c. sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 1/3 c. all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1/2 c. coarsely chopped pecans
- 2 c. or 12 oz. semi-sweet chocolate chunks
- In a large bowl combine cocoa and baking soda; blend in 1/3 cup melted margarine.
- Add boiling water and stir until well blended.
- Stir in sugar, eggs and remaining margarine.
- Add flour, vanilla and salt.
- Stir by hand until well blended.
- Fold in pecans and chocolate chunks.
- Pour into a well-greased 9 x 13-inch pan.
- Bake at 350u0b0 for 35 to 40 minutes or until brownies begin to pull away from side.
- Do not overbake.
- Cool 10 minutes before cutting.
