Mincemeat Cookies(About 1890, From My Mother'S Cookbook)

  1. Cream shortening, add sugar and mix.
  2. Add egg, slightly beaten, and seasonings.
  3. Beat together until blended.
  4. Sift dry ingredients together; add mincemeat and nuts alternately with milk to first mixture.
  5. Drop by teaspoons onto an oiled cookie sheet leaving an inch or so between cookies.
  6. Bake at 375u0b0 for 10 to 12 minutes. Yields about 2 1/2 to 3 dozen cookies.
