Matzo Meat Pie

  1. Saute onion in 2 tablespoons oil until golden.
  2. Add meat and spices.
  3. Stir and cook until browned, but moist (8 to 10 minutes). Add raisins.
  4. In small pan, saute nuts in 1 tablespoon oil.
  5. Place stock in small rectangular dish.
  6. Soak matzo to absorb liquid, 1 at a time.
  7. Press 2 or 3 soaked matzo into 9-inch pie plate, cutting it where necessary to fit.
  8. Place fillings on top.
  9. Cover with remaining matzo.
  10. Brush top with egg and bake at 375u0b0 for 30 minutes or until golden on top.
  11. Yield:
  12. 4 to 6 servings.
