Spinach Bake(Servings: 8)
- 4 pkg. frozen spinach, chopped
- 1/4 c. evaporated milk
- 1/2 c. vegetable liquid (add more if needed)
- 1/2 Tbsp. celery salt
- 1/2 Tbsp. salt
- 1/2 Tbsp. black pepper
- 3/4 tsp. garlic salt
- 6 oz. roll jalapeno cheese
- 4 Tbsp. margarine
- 4 Tbsp. flour
- 1/2 onion, chopped
- 1/2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
- 1 pinch red pepper
- After cooking spinach, drain and reserve liquid.
- Melt butter; add flour, then onion.
- Add evaporated milk and some liquid slowly.
- Stir constantly until smooth and thick; add seasoning. Cut up cheese and melt.
- After melted, add spinach; put into casserole and cover with buttered bread crumbs.
- Improves taste by making a day ahead.
- Can be frozen.
