Shove In The Oven Tuna Dish
- 1 (1 lb. 10 oz.) can peas
- 1 1/2 c. potatoes, diced
- 1 c. carrots, diced
- 1/2 c. onions, chopped
- 4 Tbsp. butter
- 4 Tbsp. flour
- milk
- 1 tsp. salt (optional)
- 1/8 tsp. pepper
- 2 tsp. soy sauce
- 2 (6 1/2 or 7 oz.) cans tuna, drained
- Drain peas, reserve liquid.
- Cook potatoes, carrots and onion in this liquid for 8 to 10 minutes.
- Drain and save liquid.
- Melt butter in saucepan; stir in flour to make a smooth paste.
- Add milk to vegetable liquid to make 2 cups.
- Add to butter mixture; cook over low heat; stir until mixture thickens.
- Add seasonings. Combine veggies and tuna in buttered 2 quart casserole.
- Pour sauce over all.
- May be refrigerated overnight.
- To serve, bake covered in slow oven at 325u0b0 for 1 hour.
- Makes 6 to 8 servings.
