Swedish Meat Balls
- 1 1/2 lb. ground round or chuck steak
- 1/4 c. finely ground crumbs
- 1 tsp. sugar
- 1/4 tsp. nutmeg
- 1/2 c. milk
- 1/4 tsp. ginger
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1/4 c. chopped onion
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. allspice
- 1 can cream of mushroom soup
- 1 small container sour cream
- salt and pepper to season
- Combine all ingredients except the soup, sour cream and salt and pepper and blend well.
- Cover bowl and store in refrigerator for about 1 hour.
- Shape into small balls about the size of a quarter.
- Use bacon grease to fry meat balls. When all meat balls are browned, return meat balls to skillet.
- Turn heat down low and add the soup and sour cream. Season with salt and pepper.
- Cook until mixture is heated through.
- Serve in chafing dish.
