Inside Out Ravioli
- 1 lb. ground beef (lean)
- 1/2 c. chopped onions
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen chopped spinach or fresh, cooked
- 1 (8 oz.) can tomato paste
- 1/2 tsp. salt (I also add 1 tsp. granulated sugar and Italian spices)
- dash of pepper
- 1 (7 oz.) pkg. (2 c.) large shell pasta, cooked and drained
- 4 oz. sharp process American cheese, shredded (1 c.)
- 1/2 c. seasoned bread crumbs
- 2 well beaten eggs
- 1/4 c. salad oil
- Brown first three ingredients in large skillet.
- Cook spinach using directions; drain reserving liquid.
- Add water to make 1 cup.
- Add spinach liquid and next 5 ingredients to meat mixture. Simmer 20 minutes.
- Combine spinach with pasta and remaining ingredients.
- Spread in 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking dish.
- Top with meat sauce.
- Bake at 350u0b0 for 30 minutes, covered.
- Let stand for 10 minutes.
- Serves 8 to 10 people.
