Lasagne
- 1 lb. Italian sausage
- 1 lb. ground chuck
- 1 clove garlic
- 1 Tbsp. basil
- 1 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 (1 lb.) can tomatoes
- 2 (6 oz.) cans tomato paste
- 1 lb. Mozzarella cheese
- 2 eggs
- 3 c. cream-style cottage cheese
- 2 Tbsp. parsley flakes
- 1/2 c. Romano cheese
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. pepper
- 10 oz. lasagna noodles
- Brown meat and spoon off fat.
- Add next 5 ingredients.
- Simmer, uncovered, for 30 minutes.
- Cook noodles.
- Beat eggs.
- Add remaining ingredients except Mozzarella.
- Layer 1/2 the noodles in a 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking dish; spread 1/2 cottage cheese filling and 1/2 the Mozzarella and 1/2 the meat sauce.
- Repeat layers. Bake at 375u0b0 for 30 minutes (or fix early and refrigerate).
- Bake 45 minutes.
- Let stand 10 minutes before serving.
- Serves 8 to 12.
