Chewy Raisin Molasses Cookies

  1. Place raisins in a bowl. Cover with boiling water; let stand for 5 minutes. Drain and set aside.
  2. Meanwhile, in a large bowl, cream shortening and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Beat in molasses. Combine the oats, flour, baking soda, salt and cinnamon; gradually add to the creamed mixture and mix well. Stir in raisins.
  3. Drop by tablespoonfuls 2 in. apart onto lightly greased
  4. . Bake at 350u0b0 for 12-14 minutes or until lightly browned. Remove to wire racks to cool.
