Spaghetti The Hard Way (But Worth It)

  1. Cook hamburger in skillet and drain.
  2. In a large Dutch oven, heat oil and cook onion and bell pepper.
  3. Add meat and garlic.
  4. Add tomatoes (sauce, paste and crushed).
  5. Add 2 cups water and mushrooms.
  6. Add spices, except sugar, and bring to a boil.
  7. Reduce heat and simmer 4 hours.
  8. Add sugar and continue to simmer 30 minutes.
  9. When simmering, check and stir frequently.
  10. Add water when necessary.
  11. Remove bay leaves and serve over pasta.
