Bubble Loaf
- 1 pkg. dry yeast
- 1/3 c. warm water
- 1 c. milk, scalded
- 1 Tbsp. sugar
- 1 Tbsp. butter or oleo
- 2 tsp. salt
- 4 c. flour
- 2 eggs, beaten
- melted butter
- 1 tsp. marjoram
- 1/2 tsp. dried thyme
- 1/2 tsp. dried parsley
- Combine yeast and warm water in large bowl; let stand 5 minutes.
- In
- saucepan combine next 4 ingredients until butter melts.
- Stir
- in
- yeast
- mixture.
- Add 1 cup flour; beat until dough
- is
- elastic.
- Add
- eggs,
- graduallyttir in 2 1/2 cups flour
- to form a stiff dough.
- On floured surface, knead dough for 15 minutes.
- Place in greased bowl, cover, let rise, until doubled.
- Divide
- dough
- in
- half. Cut each 1/2 into 8 pieces. Shape
- each
- piece into a ball, dip into melted butter.
- Place in 9 x 5-inch loaf pan, sprinkle with herbs.
- Let rise again. Bake at 350u0b0 for 45 to 55 minutes.
