Oven Barbecued Steak
- 1 c. catsup
- 1/2 c. water
- 1/4 c. wine vinegar
- 1/4 c. chopped onion
- 1/4 c. chopped green pepper
- 1/4 tsp. black pepper
- 2 lb. chuck steak, cut 1/2-inch thick
- 1 1/2 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
- 1 Tbsp. prepared mustard
- 2 Tbsp. brown sugar
- 1 Tbsp. garlic salt
- Combine all ingredients, except steak, salt and pepper, in saucepan.
- Bring to a boil, then simmer for 5 minutes over low heat.
- Keep sauce hot.
- Cut steak into serving size pieces; season generously with garlic, salt and pepper.
- Place pieces in casserole or baking dish.
- Pour hot sauce over steak.
- Bake in a 325u0b0 oven for about 1 1/2 hours, or until fork-tender.
- Garnish with bell pepper rings, if desired.
- Makes 4 to 5 servings.
