Sweet-Sour Beef 'N Cabbage
- 1 1/2 lb. ground beef
- 1/2 c. chopped onion
- 1/2 c. chopped celery
- 1/2 c. chopped green pepper
- 2 Tbsp. oatmeal
- 2 Tbsp. parsley
- 3/4 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. garlic powder
- 1 medium cabbage head
- 1 (15 oz.) can tomato sauce
- 1/4 c. vinegar
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- dash of black pepper
- 3 Tbsp. brown sugar
- Cook meat, onion, celery and pepper until brown; drain off fat.
- Sprinkle oats, parsley, first salt, garlic and pepper over meat mixture.
- Core cabbage; cut into wedges and place on meat. Mix remaining ingredients together in a bowl; pour over cabbage and meat.
- Cover and simmer for 20 to 30 minutes, or until cabbage is tender.
- Serve at once.
