Upside-Down Cake
- 2 Tbsp. butter or margarine
- 1/4 c. brown sugar, packed
- 1 (8 1/2 oz.) can sliced pineapple, drained
- maraschino cherries
- walnut or pecan halves
- 1 1/2 c. Bisquick
- 1/2 c. granulated sugar
- 1 egg
- 1/2 c. cold water or milk
- 2 Tbsp. shortening
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- Heat oven to 350u0b0.
- Melt
- butter over low heat in 8 x 8 x 2-inch baking
- pan.
- Sprinkle
- with
- browntugar.trrange pineapple, cherries
- and
- nuts
- over
- sugar.
- Blend
- Bisquick, granulated sugar, egg,
- water,
- shorteningtnd vanilla on low speed 1/2 minute, scraping bowl.
- Beat 4 minutes medium speed. Pour over fruit in pan.
- Bake 35 to 40 minutes or until wooden pick comes out
- clean.
- Invert
- attnce
- onto
- serving plate. Leave pan over cake a few minutes.
